LTFRB nabs 20 modern PUV units for overloading


The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) has apprehended 20 modern public utility vehicles (PUV) in Metro Manila for overloading.

  • Apart from overloading, the LTFRB caught eight drivers that are not wearing the proper uniform; four PUV units that have broken brake lights; two vehicles that does not public show its fare matrix, one that does not have a “no smoking” sign, and another one that failed to present a Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC) card.

    In a social media post, the Board also said that members of its Law Enforcements Unit (LEU) conducted the operations yesterday (February 2).


    The aforementioned number of units were caught during two separate operations in Quezon City and Caloocan City.

    According to the LTFRB, the modern PUV units that were nabbed have been slapped with a P5,000-fine for violating Memorandum Circular 2011-004 of the Joint Administrative Order 2014-01.

Teofilo Guadiz III was quoted as saying.
