LTO looks to fast-track number plate delivery after resolving backlogs
MANILA: The Land Transportation Office (LTO) is focused on fast-tracking the delivery of number plates to their respective owners after sharing that it has already resolved its backlog.

Per the agency, it produced a total of 18,578,612 license plates last month. The figure covers 11,815,068 motorcycle plates and 6,763,544 motor vehicle plates.
LTO cited the department’s efforts, specifically the ramp-up in the past two years, which helped solve the pile-up, reported to have started sometime in 2014.
“We are elated and excited to announce that your LTO was able to comply with the commitment to President Ferdinand ‘Bongbong’ R. Marcos, Jr. that there will be no backlog for both motorcycle and four-wheel vehicle plates by June 2025,” Pua commented.
“To borrow a quote from our LTO Chief, ASEC (Assistant Secretary) Mendoza: ‘sa Bagong Pilipinas, lahat may plaka na’ (To borrow a quote from our LTO Chief, ASEC Mendoza: ‘under Bagong Pilipinas, everyone has a license plate’),” he added.
