Mazda MX-30 e-Skyactiv R-EV receives Euro NCAP 5-star rating

Mazda announced that the MX-30 e-Skyactiv R-EV has received a five-star rating — the highest possible safety rating — from the European New Car Assessment Program (NCAP).

According to the Japanese carmaker, the plug-in hybrid vehicle (PHEV) scored impressively in all four Euro NCAP test categories: Adult Occupant, Child Occupant, Vulnerable Road User (pedestrian safety), and Safety Assist.

Moreover, the Mazda MX-30 e-Skyactiv R-EV achieved maximum points in lateral impact tests, as well as a perfect score for crash test performance based on six- and 10-year-old children for both frontal and lateral impact.

The Euro NCAP success of the Mazda MX-30 e-Skyactiv R-EV follows the achievement of the MX-30 electric crossover sport utility vehicle. Like the PHEV model, the all-electric MX-30 has been awarded a five-star rating by Euro NCAP.

The excellent performance accomplished by both variants of the Mazda MX-30 is a result of three key factors, which are the latest Skyactiv Vehicle Architecture, a wide range of advanced i‑Activsense safety technologies, and high standards of pedestrian protection.
