Mazda PH Updates Mazda 2 with G-Vectoring Control
Mazda Philippines recently updated the Mazda 2, fitting the subcompact model with the Japanese carmaker's G-Vectoring Control system for "more precise steering, better control and less fatigue." In conjunction with the refinements made to the model's suspension and steering systems, "driving fun and peace of mind are further heightened, reinforcing the fact that the Mazda 2 is the best-in- class when it comes to driving and feel."
Aside from the G-Vectoring Control system, and Bluetooth connectivity, which are now both standard in all variants of the 2017 Mazda 2, the sound insulation has also been improved for the model, with a front sound-insulating windshield and added insulating materials in the engine compartment helping to reduce cabin noise. Noise-absorbing and damping material have also been added in the liftgate and trunk panels to further reduce noise, vibration, and harshness levels, "thus raising the standard of comfort in the subcompact class."
For the six-speed automatic SkyActiv transmission-equipped Mazda 2 V, both the sedan and hatchback variants are now equipped with LED fog lights with chrome accents on their bezels while the side mirror-mounted turn signals have been redesigned and silver-colored wheels enhance the 2's stance. Inside, the fabric seats boast of a new design pattern while a redesigned and more contoured steering wheel, similar to the all-new Mazda CX-5 and Mazda CX-9, offer better grip for the driver. More prominent carbon fiber accents on the dashboard not only cap the redesigned interior of the 2 but also reinforce its sporty leanings.
As for the range-topping Mazda 2 R, larger 16-inch machine-finished wheels now come with gunmetal grey accents to distinguish it from previous years’ models while the interior now has redesigned leather seats "to exude a more premium and refined feel" and six airbags to further enhance driver and passenger safety.
"Since its Philippine launch in 2015, the Mazda 2 has grown up to be a more mature and confident vehicle that respects drivers and passengers alike while continuing to deliver safety and assurance through solid engineering and design," said Steven Tan, president and CEO of Bermaz Auto Philippines, the exclusive distributor of Mazda vehicles and parts in the country. "With the smarter and smoother 2017 Mazda 2, we can surely establish stronger bonds with our customers who will find this new model even more invigorating to drive and a pleasure to own."
