MMDA bares temporary lane closure, stop-and-go scheme for MMFF parade
MANILA: The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) shared its temporary lane closure and stop-and-go scheme for the upcoming Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 51st Edition Grand Parade of Stars on December 19, Friday, in Makati City.

Per MMDA, motorists will be made to stop intermittently on specific lanes to allow the parade to pass quickly. After which, traffic will be resumed.
“The Makati City local government serves as host city for this year's parade, which is expected to draw crowds to get a glimpse of their favorite celebrities aboard decorative floats representing each movie entry,” MMDA wrote in a press release.
Further, MMDA noted that the affair is themed “A New Era for Philippine Cinema,” which President Ferdinand Marcos Junior continuously and actively supported, highlighting its role in promoting Filipino culture and the Philippine film industry under “Bagong Pilipinas.”

“The city government's invaluable support and commitment to facilitate the smooth flow of the parade and ensure the safety of the people attending the parade is commendable, Artes was quoted as saying.
Movie-themed floats, tents, a starting holding area, and the main stage will occupy the northbound section of Macapagal Boulevard. Spectators at the parade’s starting point will gather in the southbound direction.
The agency will deploy at least 1,000 personnel composed of traffic personnel, motorcycle unit and mobile patrol units, as well as its Towing and Impounding Group, Road Emergency Group, Public Safety Division, Metro Parkways Clearing Group, and people from the Traffic Engineering Center.
Motorists are advised to plan their trips and use alternate routes.

Here are the alternate routes as suggested by the MMDA:
For vehicles coming from Macapagal Boulevard, Mall of Asia, and Cavite area; they are advised to take left at Seaside Boulevard, right at Diokno Boulevard, straight to Atang De la Rama Street, right at Vicento Sotto Street, left at Jalandoni Street, then right at Pedro Bukaneg Street to their destination.
Otherwise, they can use Diokno Boulevard and proceed right at Gil Puyat Avenue Extension, left at Jalandoni Street, then right at Pedro Bukaneg Street to their destination.

They can also use JP Rizal Avenue to A. Mabini Street, turn left at Zamora Street, right at Commando Bridge to their destination.
