MMDA to Introduce New Traffic, Flood Mobile App this 2018
Bumper-to-bumper traffic is already the norm in Metro Manila. In fact, drivers often consider it a miracle if they can run at 60 kph along EDSA. As such, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) is set to introduce a new mobile app to keep motorists updated on traffic report, flood alert, and disaster and emergency preparedness.
MMDA will collaborate with MediaQuest Holdings in developing the new mobile app. With this, MMDA Chairman Danilo Lim and MediaQuest Holdings, Inc. President and CEO Atty. Ray Espinosa signed a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) to cement their partnership.
The agency's upcoming mobile app will give users access to traffic situations across major thoroughfares. It will also share information related to floods, road repairs, and road condition. In addition, the app aims to provide up-to-date info on the Pasig River Ferry System and other public transport schedule as well as earthquake preparedness updates.
MMDA plans to launch the mobile app on December 2018.
