Reports stated that the MMDA is planning to use the rightmost lane for bicycles, followed by a public utility vehicle lane, while the third lane from the right will be for motorcycles.

Earlier, MMDA Acting Chairman Engr. Carlo Antonio Dimayuga III said that the goal for reviving motorcycle lanes in the area is “to put the vehicles in order and as part of road safety for the motorcycle-riding public.”

MMDA General Manager Baltazar Melgar shared during the workshop the agency’s Traffic Engineering Center stating that in 2021, around 133,591 motorcycles use Commonwealth Avenue.

Dimayuga also shared that of the 2.9 million registered vehicles in Metro Manila last year, 1.44 million are motorcycles
