Move It kickstarts 'Habal-Habal' to Legal program

As part of its commitment to help colorum motorcycle riders, Move It has kickstarted its “Habal-Habal to Legal” program.

According to the local motorcycle taxi firm, the initiative started by assisting and guiding the unauthorized riders get their respective professional driving licenses. Per Move It, numerous “habal-habal” riders who aspire to secure a professional license — and ultimately become rider-partners on the platform — joined the sign-up event last August 12.

In a statement, Move It said that the program is a testament to its commitment to “transform the informal street-hailing riders into professional motorcycle taxi servicemen that offer safe, reliable, and legal mobility services.”

Through the aforementioned program, Move It compiles prerequisites and organizes essential documentation needed by the riders for their professional license application. Aside from that, the initiative provides refresher courses and training sessions that focus on technical knowledge and skills related to road safety and traffic regulations. “These measures significantly enhance the chances of the riders to successfully pass the assessment process of the Land Transportation Office,” the company explained.

In addition, the company shared that it is set to conduct more similar sign-up events and support sessions — to be hosted at the Move It Partner Center in Marikina City. Those who are interested may visit the Move It’s official social media pages for updates.
