New Ford Territory enters PH market

MANILA: Ford Philippines has officially entered the new energy vehicle segment with the launch of the new Territory Hybrid — making the country the first market in the brand’s International Markets Group (IMG) to receive such an offering.

The Blue Oval’s local arm shared that the latest version of its popular small sport utility vehicle (SUV) blends “efficient performance, bolder design, advanced technology, and driver-assist features to meet the needs of today’s customers.”

“The Territory has been an important product for us since we launched it in 2020. Bringing in the newest hybrid variant is an important step for us as the market demand for electrified vehicles continues to grow,” Ford Philippines Managing Director Pedro Simoes said.

“The Territory Hybrid builds on the strength of our popular SUV with a hybrid system that is refined and responsive. This is the kind of practical mobility innovation Filipino customers today are looking for, and we are ready to deliver it.”

Here’s what we customers will get with the new Ford Territory Hybrid.

Vehicle specifications

Ford’s newest offering comes with the following measurements:

The crossover also sports a sleeker design by trimming down the edges in the front fascia. Complementing this are the following portions:

• Flatter hood
• Distinct grille
• Updated fenders
• New headlamp cluster design
• Larger daytime running lamps
• 18-19-inch alloy wheels (depending on the variant)
• Full-width LED taillight bar
• Restyled rear bumper

For a limited time, Ford Philippines will give free hybrid side decals (on the lower silver door trim) and light-up front and rear “Ford” logos to the early adopters of the new Territory.

Further, the Ford Territory Hybrid — specifically the particularly the top-spec option — has: 

• Automatic headlamp functionality
• Puddle lamps
• Power-folding and adjustable side mirrors with heating
• Hands-free tailgate
• Rain-sensing wipers
• Chrome door handles

Inside, occupants will be greeted with dual-tone leather and new headrests as well as multi-color ambient lighting.

The new Ford Territory’s cabin amenities are:

• PM2.5 Filter
• Wireless charging pad
• Dual-zone automatic climate control with rear air-conditioning vents
• Push-start ignition
• 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster
• 12-inch touchscreen with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity mated to Arkamys SoundStage speakers.

To ensure quietness inside the vehicle, Ford has slapped a front acoustic glass on the Territory, which helps reduce wind and road noise even at speeds of up to 120 kph.

Drivetrain

Powering the Ford Territory’s latest version in front-wheel-drive configuration is a 1.5-liter turbocharged hybrid inline-4 gasoline engine matched to a two-speed dedicated hybrid transmission and 1.83-kilowatt lithium-ion nickel cobalt manganese battery.

This powertrain (which boasts three drive modes namely Eco, Normal, and Sport) can dish out the following churns:

Per Ford Philippines, the Territory Hybrid can go 0-100 kilometers per hour in 8.5 seconds.

Meanwhile, its power bank harvests energy via regenerative braking and energy capture from the internal combustion engine.

The crossover also provides drivers three power steering modes such as Comfort, Normal, and Sport, which can be automatically adjusted based on the selected drive mode or manually altered by the driver via the shortcut screen.

Moreover, the new Ford Territory Hybrid is equipped with a host of standard and optional safety technologies that come in the form of:

• Electronic stability control
• Traction control
• Hill launch assist and hill descent control
• Rear parking sensors
• 360-degree camera system with split-view function
• Adaptive cruise control with stop-and-go, lane keeping aid, blind spot information system, and rear cross-traffic alert
• Autonomous emergency braking
• Forward collision warning
• Lane departure warning and lane centering control

Ford Philippines noted that its latest offer now has the FordPass Connect that lets users connect their mobile phones to manage customer connectivity settings, command and control, and vehicle health alerts. FordPass allows user to remotely start and lock or unlock the vehicle.
