Nissan to debut adventure-focused, off-road-tuned Pathfinder at NYIAS 2022

Nissan will debut an adventure-focused Pathfinder at the upcoming New York International Auto Show (NYIAS). According to the American arm of the Japanese automaker, this year’s annual motoring event will see a bolder, off-road-inspired version of the brand’s SUV — the 2023 Pathfinder Rock Creek.

“The 2022 Pathfinder was all about a 'return to rugged,' and the Pathfinder Rock Creek takes that spirit even further. From the urban jungle to the natural beauty that can be reached within minutes from the city, Pathfinder Rock Creek has both the style and hardware to create an adventure just about anywhere,” said Nissan US Marketing and Sales Senior Vice President Michael Colleran.

Nissan said that the 2023 Pathfinder Rock Creek is designed for buyers seeking a higher level of fun and adventure, without compromising the family comfort and conveniences of other Pathfinder grade levels.

Key additions that come with the 2023 Pathfinder Rock Creek include purposefully made exterior features such as off-road-tuned suspension with a 5/8-inch lift, 18-inch Beadlock-style wheels mounted with all-terrain tires, a tubular roof rack with up to 220-pound load capacity, an exclusive front fascia with dark V-motion grille and mesh insert, as well as Rock Creek badging on the exterior.

Inside, the 2023 Pathfinder Rock Creek reflects the same rugged yet stylish elements with exclusive leatherette and fabric seats with Rock Creek embroidery, orange contrast stitching on the seats, steering wheel, instrument panel, center console, and door panels, as well as a standard intelligent around-view monitor with off-road mode.

Other notable standard features include a tow hitch receiver and harness, 6,000-pound maximum towing capacity, second-row captain seats, and LED fog lights.

Under the hood is a 295-horsepower engine, 11hp more than the standard grades, thanks to revised fuel mapping. It will be offered in four-wheel drive only.

This off-road-oriented SUV will be on display at the 2022 NYIAS, which is scheduled from April 15 to 24.

The 2023 Pathfinder Rock Creek, along with the complete 2023 Pathfinder lineup, is expected to go on sale in the US in summertime (from June to September).
