“Daring to do what others don't, Nissan and the team of extreme pioneers at Pole to Pole are pushing the limits of electric mobility, accelerating towards a cleaner, safer, more inclusive world. In undertaking and completing this ambitious expedition, we hope to reach and inspire action in others all around the world, demonstrating the prowess of electric vehicles and speeding up adoption as part of the solution to reducing global emissions,” said Nissan Africa, Middle East, India, Europe, and Oceania (AMIEO) Region Vice President for Product and Services Planning Clíodhna Lyons.
Further, the ambitious expedition will also demonstrate the progressive capabilities of e-4ORCE, Nissan's most advanced all-wheel control technology.
Striking a balance between powerful performance and unprecedented control, the Ariya's e-4ORCE system provides confidence, comfort, and control by accurately managing power output and braking performance for smoothness and stability.
Nissan said that the pole-to-pole adventure also aims to raise climate crisis awareness and the role electric vehicles can play in reducing carbon emissions.
To note, Nissan said in a previous press release that the said Ariya EV is set to begin the journey in March 2023. The modified Nissan Ariya e-4ORCE will be the first vehicle to attempt such a feat. Similarly, the Ramseys will be the first adventurers to drive from pole to pole — in a vehicle of any type — as they make their way from the Arctic through North, Central, and South America, before making it to Antarctica.
While they make their way through the Americas, Nissan shared that a second, unmodified Ariya e-4ORCE will accompany the Ramseys.
