No changes yet for PH-spec Nissan Navara's pricing

MANILA: Amid the revocation of excise tax on pickup trucks not used for livelihood purposes, Nissan Philippines Incorporated (NPI) will keep the current pricing of the Navara for the month of July.

In a statement, the Japanese automaker’s local distributor shared that while the aforementioned model’s pricing will be retained, it will only come in limited supply as it will only depend on dealership stocks.

The adjustment in pricing will take effect once the existing inventory has depleted.

To recall, the Republic Act 12214 — commonly known as Capital Markets Efficiency Promotion Act (CMEPA) — took effect last July 1.

On paper, the pickup truck measures:

Powering all Nissan All Nissan Navara offerings in the Philippines are powered by a four-cylinder, double overhead cam, 2.5-liter common rail direct-inject, diesel engine with turbocharger and intercooler that has the capacity to provide:  

• Maximum output (in horsepower): 161-187
• Peak torque (in Newton-meters): 403-450

The aforementioned mill is mated to either a six-speed manual or seven-speed automatic transmission while some of the options are fitted with a part-time, shift-on-the-fly, four-wheel-drive system and electronic locking rear differential.

Guaranteeing vehicle stability and controllability for the vehicle are:

• Suspension system: Independent double wishbone with coil spring and stabilizer bar (front) and five-link with dual rate coil spring and stabilizer bar (rear)
• Brakes: Ventilated disc type (front) drum-type (rear)

Among the amenities that and features that are fitted in the Nissan Navara are:

• Keyless entry
• Zero-Gravity-type seats
• Eight- or nine-inch touchscreens (with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, Bluetooth, USB [Types A and C>, and Auxiliary connections)
• Speed-sensing door locks
• Rain-sensing wipers
• Tailgate assist
• Rear parking sensors
• Anti-lock braking system with brake assist and electronic force distribution
• Vehicle dynamic control with four-wheel with active brake limited slip and trailer stability assist
