Petron Corporation, the country's leading oil company, has partnered with the Philippine National Police (PNP) to create an interactive road safety park that will teach children about road safety.

Located inside Camp Crame, the national headquarters of the PNP, the PNP-Petron Children's Road Safety Park is an open space on which a driving lane was constructed that winds across different traffic markers and instructional signs. On this venue, children get hands-on experience and learn various rules on how to be safe on the road and to respect other motorists and pedestrians.

An added feature of the park is the replica of a Petron service station "to give the park a 'real-world- feel." Also seen throughout the park are sculptures of popular superheroes to give the park a "theme park" vibe. Admission to the park is free of charge but is subject to the regulations at Camp Crame. Prior to entering the park, visitors will be briefed by the PNP-Police Community Relations Group on road safety rules and practices. "As we know, the best time to rear responsible adults is while they are young," Petron President and CEO Ramon S Ang said in a statement. "The PNP-Petron Children’s Road Safety Park aims to reach school children and instill in them  values of responsibility, respect and patience early on. With a vision to create accident-free roads through responsible motoring, the Park is open to all to increase road safety awareness." The PNP-Petron Children's Road Safety Park builds on the strategic partnership between Petron and the PNP under the Lakbay Ligtas program which utilizes Petron service stations to increase police visibility nationwide. There are now 300 Petron stations under the project and is expected to expand to 1,000 by year-end. Petron also seeks to engage the Department of Education in promoting road safety among the millions of primary school children in the country, with the PNP-Petron Children's Road Safety Park as a principal learning venue. "Petron has always been a strong advocate of road safety," said Petron Foundation General Manager Charmaine V. Canillas. "We have been sustaining programs that ensure safer journeys for all for over 30 years. Through this park, we can start them young and share safety awareness while teaching the values of responsibility, respect, and regards for rules."
