PH-spec BAIC B40 gets PHEV version

MANILA: BAIC Philippines has expanded its B40 lineup in the country by bringing in its plug-in hybrid (PHEV) version.

The B40e rEV Trailmaster Plug-in Hybrid will join the B40 Ragnar and Pro Trailmaster in the nameplate’s local stable.

In a statement, the company said that the all-new BAIC B40e rEV Trailmaster features electrified performance, extended range, and true off-road capability for modern Filipino lifestyles.

Per the United Asia Automotive Group Incorporated-managed vehicle distributor the model is made for those who love to spend their free time exploring, camping, and creating memories beyond the usual routes.

Vehicle specifications

Instead of a diesel powertrain, the all-new BAIC B40e rEV Trailmaster comes with the Advanced Range-Extended Electric Vehicle system, which lets it reach more than 1,200 kilometers (km) and go on pure electric mode for 152 km (based on China Light-Duty Vehicle Test Cycle standards).

Maintaining its off-road roots are the body-on-frame structure and four-wheel-drive system. Making it more modern is its vehicle-to-load capability, which has two 220-volt outlets that can dish out 2.2 kilowatts.

Additionally, its modern cabin has the following amenities:

• Two 12.8-inch screens (center control display and a passenger screen
• 12-speaker Infinity sound system with DSP
• In-car air intelligence system that helps maintain a cleaner cabin environment

Further, BAIC Philippines noted that the model is fitted with a suite of driver assistive and safety technologies.

Priced at P2.888 million, the BAIC B40e rEV Trailmaster can be had in the following interior and exterior tones namely:

The said price tag is packaged with the following warranties:

• Five-year or 150,000 km bumper-to-bumper warranty
• Five-year or 150,000 km high voltage battery warranty
• Three-year roadside assistance

Earlier, Zigwheels Philippines reported that model will likely be seen at the Manila International Auto Show 2026 set this week.
