PIMS 2018: SsangYong Musso Enters Pickup Segment
SsangYong Philippines announced at the 7th Philippine International Motor Show (PIMS) that it is ready to enter the competitive pickup truck segment with the SsangYong Musso. The Musso is set to go up against the Nissan Navara, Ford Ranger, Isuzu D-Max, Toyota Hilux, among others. SsangYong's pickup truck is based on the same body-on-frame construction of the Rexton, the brand's seven-seater SUV. The Musso's exterior is bold and composed with a hint of a stylish front end, which makes it truly a SsangYong. Of note, the Musso is integrated with a five-link suspension configuration in the rear.

It has a large front bumper integrated with the pickup's honeycombed lower grille. The upper grille is accented by a chrome bar while the headlights give the Musso a stylish look. The headlights of this vehicle is sharp-looking and its overall design gives the Musso a distinct character. Turning at the side, you can see the Musso's character lines, which gives flair to the vehicle's design. The rear, on the other hand, is fitted with huge taillights while the tailgate has character lines as well. Inside, the Musso gets a two-tone interior theme. It features a Brown Nappa leather seats as well as a leather steering wheel, and an eight-inch infotainment system with Apple Carplay and Android Auto. In addition, the Musso gets an eight-way power driver and front passenger seats, and SsangYong says the second-row seat can recline up to 27 degrees. Under the hood, the SsangYong Musso is equipped with a 2.2-liter turbo diesel engine that delivers 179 hp and 420 Nm of torque. The engine is connected to a six-speed automatic transmission. The Musso is initially available in 4x2 configuration.
