Toyota PH bolsters Tamaraw lineup with MPUV launch

MANILA: Toyota Motor Philippines has bolstered its Tamaraw lineup, with the addition of the nameplate’s Class 1 Modern Public Utility Vehicle (MPUV) variant.

Launched at the first Philippine International Truck Show (PITS), the light commercial vehicle is ready to address the transportation needs of the Filipino public. 

“We are proud to unveil the Tamaraw MPUV, also known as the Toyota Jeep, to the public for the first time,” TMP President Masando Hashimoto was quoted as saying.

“The Tamaraw MPUV delivers on its promise of value, durability, and peace of mind. It offers operators and drivers a dependable, practical, and modern option for everyday public transport, bringing the Tamaraw closer to becoming a true national car,” he added.

Vehicle specifications

The Toyota Tamaraw MPUV Class 1 uses a 2.4-liter diesel engine with a five-speed manual. Braking power comes from disc and drum brakes. 

It also comes standard with a closed-circuit television system, a five-inch monitor and video recorder, and an emergency hammer. It boasts a wide door, handrails and grab handles, as well as a spacious interior.

Comfort is delivered by a rear high-speed air conditioning unit and 4G WiFi. Meanwhile, drivers can use its standard automated fare collection system. 

Pricing

The Toyota Tamaraw MPUV Class 1 is priced at P1.389 million.
