MANILA: Suzuki Philippines Incorporated (SPH) has assured local buyers that the eVitara is not affected by the integrated display system issue that prompted a recall of its Toyota-badged counterpart.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Is the Suzuki eVitara in the Philippines affected by the display system recall seen on its Toyota counterpart?

Suzuki Philippines Incorporated (SPH) confirmed that the eVitara units being sold in the local market are not affected by the integrated display system issue that triggered a recall for the Toyota Urban Cruiser.
  • What are the key features and price of the Philippine-spec Suzuki eVitara?

The Suzuki eVitara is available in the Philippines for ₱2,020,000. Key features include a dual-display dashboard, Suzuki Safety Support, and Dual Sensor Brake Support II.
  • The clarification came after Carmudi Philippines sought comment from the local distributor following Toyota Motor Philippines’ recall announcement involving the Urban Cruiser, which shares its underpinnings with Suzuki’s all-electric SUV.

Despite their different badges, the two vehicles are manufactured by Suzuki’s subsidiary in India. However, SPH said the eVitara units currently being retailed locally are not affected by the reported concern.

“The Suzuki eVitara units being sold in the Philippines are not affected by the issue on integrated display system. Any similar concerns involving the batch of units being retailed in the country, should they have arisen prior to their arrival in the Philippines, have already been addressed,” SPH told Carmudi Philippines.

“Customers need not be concerned about the possibility of a recall affecting the aforementioned batch of units,” it added.
