Provincial Buses Exempted from Number Coding on May 10 and 14

Provincial buses will be exempted from the Unified Vehicular Volume Reduction Program (UVVRP)--also known as the 'Number Coding Scheme'--on May 10, Friday, and May 14, Tuesday.

In a statement, the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) on Wednesday, May 8, announced that the traffic scheme will be suspended on those days "to ensure that there will be enough public utility vehicles to ferry commuters who are going to vote in the provinces."

The agency also clarified that the number coding scheme for all vehicles--PUVs and private vehicles alike--will be lifted on election day itself on Monday, May 13.
