Suzuki Fronx to be introduced in PH within the year

MANILA: The Suzuki Fronx has been teased recently in the Philippines — which signals its upcoming introduction to the country.

The said model was displayed at the Suzuki Philippines Incorporated’s (SPH) Matsuri 2025 —one of the events for the year to celebrate the firm’s golden anniversary.

Currently retailed in more than 70 countries globally, SPH said that the Suzuki Fronx was engineered in the concept of an easy-to-handle coupe style sport utility vehicle (SUV). It will compete in the local subcompact SUV market — mainly against the likes of the Toyota Raize and Kia Sonet.

The Suzuki Fronx will likely be sourced from the brand’s Indonesia manufacturing facility — which started producing the model last month.

While waiting for SPH to formally announce its details, here are some bits of information about the vehicle as seen in other parts of the world.

Overseas, the Suzuki Fronx measures:

Although it can be retailed in the country in pure internal combustion engine option, the vehicle will probably be powered by a 1.5-liter, four-cylinder gasoline engine with an integrated starter generator and a lithium-ion battery (similar to the powertrain configuration of the already-available Suzuki XL7). This mill is mated to either a six-speed automatic or five-speed manual gearbox.

For its exterior, the Suzuki Fronx wears a chunky profile with fluid lines alongside the following:

• Solid front grille
• Split-design lamp

In other parts of the globe, the Suzuki Fronx is fitted with:

• Seven- to nine-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay, Android Auto, USB, Bluetooth, Wi-Fi connectivity.
• Head-up display
• Optional wireless charger
• Rear air-conditioning vents

Lastly, the Suzuki Fronx will likely carry a P1.1 to P1.4 million-price tag once it hits the Philippine market.
