The 2019 Subaru Forester Is SERIOUSLY One SAFE Vehicle

Which is more important to you when buying a car? Safety or performance? If you chose the first one, then you should seriously think of buying the 2019 Subaru Forester. This car got the maximum 5-star safety rating at the European Car Assessment Program (NCAP) test, which applies to both to its e-Boxer powertrain and non-electric variants, as well.

Of course, cynics here might tell us it's just plain baloney. We get you: the proof here is in the pudding. So we'll show you why Subaru is "almost" the safest car right now.

We say almost, because nothing's perfect (except, perhaps, Michael Jordan's iconic 3-second buzzer beater shot in the 1989 NBA Playoffs).

Here's Why

Nowhere can you find an NHTSA and IIHS Safety Rating that's almost perfect--save for a couple of eye sores that definitely stand out like sore thumbs.

Case in point: This is NHTA's Frontal Crash Test Ratings for the Subaru Forester:

If you look closely, you'll see that the only glaring imperfection that can be seen is the 4-star rating for Subaru Forester's Overall Rollover Rating.

Meanwhile, this is the result for Subaru Forester's IIHS Frontal Offset Crash Test Ratings:

As you can see, the only one that's not "Good" is its "Overall Rating"--the yellow green bar that means "Acceptable".

Top Safety Pick+

Overall, the IIHS HLDI awarded the 2019 Subaru Forester Top Safety Pick+. Their overall evaluation rating is Superior. And if you look at the entire report, the only less than perfect rating that stands out is the headlights. It got both "Good" and "Acceptable" ratings (depending on the trim).

Still, we can't really say that this is entirely a bad thing. For one, the least score in the entire report is still rated "Acceptable". And another thing: it shares the same category with a "Good" rating. So overall, we personally think it's just a minor glitch.

The "Subaru Advantage"

www.iihs.org

In case you're wondering why Subaru's safety features are off the charts, it's because of the Subaru Global Platform (SGP). Not only does it improve crash energy absorption by 40 percent, it also absorbs more shock and vibration by providing 50% less roll. This gives a quieter and stable ride when you're on the road, and keeps occupants safe and sound in the event of a crash.

So if you plan to buy one of the safest crossovers today, you should seriously consider the 2019 Subaru Forester. We guarantee you it's worth every peso (and centavo).
