This Motorcycle Delivery Service in the Philippines is a Cross Between Lazada and Grab Food

Move over Lazada and Grab Food: there's a new delivery service that's making quite a buzz within the Bicol region. The name? Pandalivery.

Created by Jude Salvador Buelva in January 2018, the third year IT student from Ateneo de Naga recalled how his company started just by using social media as its business platform at that time.

"I started with just PHP500, using a Facebook page (as a platform), and my elder brother's motorcycle (to deliver products)," the Pandalivery Chief Executive Officer and founder told the Philippine News Agency (PNA) in an interview. He described the business as a "minimized Lazada, but for the locals." "It's a localized platform, not just for the (app) users. It really helps the province, online store owners," he said.

Lazada + Grab Food = Pandalivery

Like Lazada and Grab Food (combined), Pandalivery allows you to buy various items using the Pandalivery app--from groceries, ukay-ukay items, medicines, and restaurant food. This gives it a wider market base to offer its services. Moreover, Pandalivery also aims to uplift province and store owners within the region.

The company currently has 90 partners in its app. It operates in Naga and Legazpi cities, and soon to expand in Daet and Camarines Sur. Buelva also added that the company has 15-driver partners and 10 dispatchers to date. These 'partner-drivers' earn from commissions that are higher compared to the local minimum wage. "Some of them earn an average of PHP800, which is higher than our PHP300 local minimum wage," he explained.
