In a recent press release, Volkswagen revealed that the VW Amarok will come with Matrix headlights and the addition of the large infotainment display does build hype around the premium pickup truck.

According to the Wolfsburg-based company, the infotainment display unit measures from 10 to 12 inches and is positioned in a vertical orientation. This way, said Volkswagen, the display gives the driver and the front passenger a better overview and extensive control options.

In terms of providing its occupants a better overview, the vertical orientation of the infotainment unit helps the driver in checking the Amarok’s suite of driver-assist systems such as the lane-keeping and lane-changing assistants, lighting and speed assistants, and also surrounding area view and road sign recognition.

Now, in the matter of the Amarok’s control options, the vertical screen allows the placement of a mix of digital functions and ergonomically optimally configured buttons.

The new Volkswagen Amarok will be launched in the UK at the end of this year.
