After reports of confirmed comeback in the country, the Volkswagen Kombi — the iconic people carrier of yesteryear — has finally reached Philippine shores.
The legendary badge will be offered in an exclusive top-of-the-line variant fitted with modern features and automotive technologies that, Volkswagen Philippines claimed, “will further define the user’s motoring lifestyle, particularly those who are always on the go to attend important business meetings, both online and face-to-face.”
Powering the upcoming Volkswagen Kombi is a 2.0-liter TDI diesel engine paired to a seven-speed Direct Shift Gearbox (DSG) with Tiptronic function and coasting feature. This powertrain can deliver up to 148hp and 340Nm torque.
Being the passenger-centric vehicle that it is widely known for, the Multivan Kombi has dual power side doors for ease of entry and exit, and a powered tailgate.
This vehicle is features Nappa leather in its interior. Aside from that , passengers in the front and second row can enjoy captain seats, with the latter given the option to swivel and face the third row (which can comfortably sit three).
The forthcoming Kombi is also equipped with a multifunction folding table which can be positioned in between the second and third rows.
According to the Ayala-backed distributor, the Kombi Multivan will be priced at P3.65 million.
Further, the local arm for the German automaker said that a” limited supply of the Multivan Kombi has already arrived locally and will be available in three colors: Reflex Silver, Black Pearlescent, and the Bi-Color Reflex Silver/Starlight Blue,” and other color variants “will also be offered by special order.”
