Volvo integrates Waze into vehicles

Volvo Cars announced that it has integrated the Waze mobile app into its automobiles.

According to the Swedish carmaker, this move will provide better access to onboard navigation for owners of Volvo vehicles with built-in Google.

"We’re continuing to expand our in-car app offer to bring more options and benefits to our customers, allowing them to personalize their car. We’re committed to continuously improving the experience in Volvo cars through our in-house software development and ongoing collaborations with tech companies such as Google and Waze,” said Volvo Cars Global Head of New Car Programs and Operations Strategy Erik Severinson.

Compatible Volvo Cars automobile owners can download the Waze app directly on their cars using the Google Playstore in the vehicle’s infotainment system.

The in-car Waze app, the Gothenburg-based brand pointed out, helps make the everyday journey of drivers easier by avoiding phone-related hassles and distractions, while continuing to offer the excellent functionalities that its customers have come to expect from the Waze app on their mobile phones.

Further, the marque said that the in-car Waze app is seamlessly displayed on the infotainment screen, making navigation more comfortable with a bigger and bolder eye-level display area.
