The long-range 77.4-kWh battery can be mated with two electric motor layouts, either rear-wheel-drive (RWD) or all-wheel-drive (AWD). The top-of-the-line dual motor setup is an AWD option producing a combined power output of 320hp and 605Nm of torque. This PE configuration can go from zero to 100 kph in just 5.1 seconds.

Range-wise, the Ioniq 6 is said to offer an estimated range of over 610km on a single charge.

The battery can support both 400-V and 800-V charging infrastructures, with 800-V charging as standard; it can accommodate 400-V charging without the need for additional components or adapters. With a 350-kW charger, the Ioniq 6 can charge from 10 percent to 80 percent in just 18 minutes.

It is also capable of the innovative vehicle-to-load (V2L) function allowing would-be owners to use the power of the Ioniq 6 to charge any electric device.

And since the Ioniq 6 is touted as a vehicle that is also one’s personal space, Hyundai’s Electrified Streamliner offers an abundance of unique interior features.

“Ioniq 6 is designed and engineered to seamlessly enhance our daily lives as space to awaken your potential. The innovative interior is meticulously thought out as a cocoon-like personal space, enhanced with the latest technologies to create a safe, fun, and stress-free driving experience. The spacious interior, with sustainability and usability at its heart, once again represents a step forward for electric vehicles, in line with the values of our customers,” explained Hyundai Motor Company Customer Experience Division, Global Chief Marketing Officer, and Executive Vice President Thomas Schemera.

To maximize interior space, all of the seats of the Ioniq 6 are specifically-manufactured for all-electric models and are approximately 30 percent thinner than those in other conventional vehicles.

Connection-wise, the Ioniq 6 features four type-C USB ports and one type-A USB port to improve customer convenience.

Yet another highlight of the cabin is the modular touchscreen dashboard that integrates a 12-inch full-touch infotainment display and a 12-inch digital cluster.

The large infotainment screen provides real-time travel radius mapping based on the current state of charge while allowing owners to search and plan the best route to include a charging station along the way.

As expected, the avant-garde infotainment system is compatible with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. Bluetooth multi-connection support is available, so two devices can be paired at the same time — one for phone calls and one for music streaming.

Speaking of which, the cabin houses a premium Bose sound system with eight speakers including a subwoofer.

“Ioniq 6 connects an emotional convergence of functionality with aesthetics. The distinctive streamlined design is the result of close cooperation between engineers and designers, with obsessive attention to detail and customer-centric values at the core. We have created the Ioniq 6 as a mindful cocoon that offers a personalized place for all,” said Hyundai Design Center Head and Executive Vice President SangYup Lee.

In terms of safety, the Ioniq 6 has no shortage of features that will keep the driver and its passengers feeling safe and secure. It is equipped with the next level of Hyundai SmartSense and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems.

Per Hyundai, the Ioniq 6 is slated to begin production in the third quarter of 2022. The market launch schedule will be announced later.
