Yamaha Motor PH unleashes latest Sniper155
The latest Yamaha Sniper 155 has refreshed its looks with its styling, taking cues from the YZF-R1. Developed to bear the Yamaha Racing DNA, the Yamaha Sniper155 wears a modern and compact design as expressed in its forward silhouette and the short and upward rear end.
Also, the headlamp system shows a unique design with the Sniper 155 as the low beam is now separated from the high beam. The high beam is built into the body while the low beam seems to come from the handlebar level.
The newest Yamaha Sniper is powered by an improved liquid-cooled 155cc SOHC four-valve fuel-injected engine with Variable Valve Actuation (VVA) and individual ignition timing maps. This powertrain is paired to a six-speed transmission. This matching helps the Yamaha Sniper 155 reach a peak of 17.6hp and 14.4Nm torque.
It is not just the aesthetics that the Yamaha Sniper 155 has adapted from its bigger sporty brethren; it is also equipped with assist and slipper clutch to soften supposed shocks when shifting gears. This is the same system used in YZF-R1 and YZF-R15 models.
The Yamaha Sniper155 wears the negative LCD panel and is now better angled for enhanced readability.
Further, the higher-tiered variant (Sniper 155R) has some exclusive features such as the smart key system, 245mm front disc brake with two-pot caliper and the 12V DC power socket.
Available in four colors, (the iconic Yamaha Race Blu, Black Raven, Yellow Hornet and the Sniper155R-exclusive hue Matte Titan), the new Yamaha Sniper155 has a retail price of ₱114,900 and ₱120,900. These are now available at all YZone, Rev Zone and Yamaha 3S Shops around the country.
