Yamaha Motor Philippines (YMPH) has showcased the capabilities of the Mio Gear at a recently-concluded moto-camping activity in the Queen City of the South.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • Where did Yamaha Motor Philippines bring riders for the recent moto-camping activity with the Mio Gear?

The Japanese motorcycle brand's local arm brought participants to Durhan White Beach in Cebu.
  • What is the Yamaha Mio Gear's starting price?

The Yamaha Mio Gear's starting price is at P77,400.
  •  In a statement, the motorcycle brand brought together various riders to an activity at Durhan White Beach in Cebu to display the scooter’s ready-to-play attitude.

“The Yamaha Mio Gear is created to traverse the rugged city with a design that heightens the rider’s toughness. It also has a built-in advantage and functional features that give riding confidence on the road, and even off the metro,” YMPH shared.

The participants rode the 125cc engine-powered scooter (which can dish out a maximum churn of 9.3 horsepower and 9.6Nm of pulling power) for hours before reaching the beachfront. The same powertrain — fitted with a Smart Motor Generator and stop-and-start system — helped the riders get to the destination in a fuel-efficient manner.

While traversing the roads of Cebu, the fleet of Yamaha Mio Gear turned heads of onlookers with its bold design depicted in the sharp body lines and reflectorized graphics on the fairings and wheels.

Since it has few painted parts, the Yamaha Mio Gear may look dull for others, but the well-thought-out design was to ensure that its overall look will withstand rugged activities. To give riders an idea on how the scooter can still be upgraded, YMPH displayed an adventure-ready Mio Gear during the event.

Other functional features that can be found in the Yamaha Mio Gear are the electric power socket at the scooter’s left-hand pocket, slip-resistant footboards, a hook and carabiner hanger, and pillion rider footrests.

With four available body colors to choose from (matte blue, matte black, matte gray and off-white), the motorcycle is being offered in two variants: the Yamaha Mio Gear (suggested retail price is P77,4000) and the Gear S trim (P82,400).

YMPH first brought the Yamaha Mio Gear in the country in August 2021, expanding the Mio's local roster.
