The cabin of the 2025 Sealion 5 DM-i is upholstered in beige-and-brown faux-leather, with perforated leather surfaces on seats. The front seats get integrated headrests and semi-bucket shapes that offer strong lateral support. The driver’s and front-passenger’s seats are multi-directionally adjustable. The Sealion 5 DM-i sports BYD’s prominent wave-ripple grille that’s evolved from the company’s all-electric series classic X-shaped motif. The grille is framed by matrix-patterned chrome accents that simulate ocean waves. Elongated, slim rectangular headlamps flanking the grille. The car gets all-around LED lighting. The vertical light clusters mirror the grille’s chrome theme with smoked housings. The front bumper gets an U-shaped air intake and sculpted lower fascia. On the sides, the Sealion gets a floating roof with blacked-out D-pillars and sleek silver trim around the windows. There are sculpted body lines with a defined waistline and skirt line that flows naturally from the front to the back. The car runs on 18-inch dual-tone alloy wheels in black and silver with Chaoyang tires. At the back, there’s a full-width taillight strip that connects both light clusters with a thin linear bar. On illumination, it produces a distinctive horizon-like signature. There’s a ducktail spoiler that extends from the roof. The bumper design remains minimalist but layered. It mirrors the car’s cohesive ocean-inspired theme. The license plate is positioned on the tailgate instead of on the lower bumper.

The 2025 Sealion 5 DM-i is available in Aurora White, Deep Sea Blue, Cosmos Black, and Harbour Grey color options.

The 2025 BYD Sealion 05 DM-i is mounted on a MacPherson-strut in the front and a multi-link rear suspension setup at the back that’s tuned more for urban comfort rather than sporty flair. Most minor bumps and uneven surfaces are absorbed exceptionally well. The suspension system cushions rear-seat occupants from vibrations and jolts. Real-world tests show about 2.2-litre/100 km at low battery levels. On highways the ride is smooth and the 2025 Sealion 5 DM-i is able to cruise at a stable speed.

The Sealion 5 DM-i is equipped with BYD’s God’s Eye C (DiPilot 100) system that comprises 12 high-resolution cameras (including front stereo trio and four surround-view), five millimetre-wave radars, and 12 ultrasonic sensors. These create a 360-degree high-perception safety net that eliminates all blind-spots. The hardware supports adaptive cruise control, lane keeping, automatic lane-change, smart valet parking, collision warning, and open-door reminder.

The 2025 BYD Sealion 05 DM-i has a starting price of ₱1.198 Million. BYD is yet to establish a countrywide network. But the car manages to blend efficiency, performance, and style seamlessly.
