Jaguar XF

While the exterior styling of the Jaguar XF has successfully managed to withstand the test of changing times and evolution, the interior cabin somehow looks like it hasn’t been able to match the pace of evolution of the exterior. While there is no dearth in the premium aspect of the cabin, with the use of top-notch leather and high-quality materials, the layout has started showing its age.

The three-spoke multi-functional steering wheel with its rounded theme as well as the instrument console with part digital dials look simple yet classy. The centre console has a wide layout to it, with a tucked in theme for the 10.2-inch touchscreen infotainment system. The slightly protruding out theme for the cluster of buttons for automatic climate control makes the centre console look wide too.

The cabin is equipped with all the modern features and technologies which one expects from a car in this class. Also, while the rear seats have a good amount of space, the slightly high transmission tunnel does eat up the knee room and legroom for the middle passenger. 

While the Jaguar XF has seen very little changes in its original design for a very long time, the minute refreshes the design has got over all these years still manage to make it look so relevant and elegant. The sleek and curvy design with minimal character lines and familiar design makes it look suave.

The front portion of the Jaguar XF gets the rounded rectangular wide grille which has slanted sides to it. The wide and stretched L-shaped all-LED headlamps do match the sleek profile of the car and get L-shaped daytime running LEDs. This R-Sport variant does get large air dams on either side of the front bumper, which tapers slightly towards the inner edge.

The side profile of the Jaguar XF looks very elegant with a curvy roofline that flows exquisitely towards both front and rear, thus giving it a perfect aerodynamic profile. The rounded C-pillar quarter glass and slightly bulging outdoor panels in a curved manner make it look even more fluidic and streamlined.

The Jaguar XF gets a pair of horizontally stretched LED tail lamps at the back, which do get tapered edges towards its inner sides and curved ends on their outer edges. The rounded boot lid and dual exhaust ports accentuate its sporty appeal without making it look outrageous.

The Jaguar XF is one of the sportiest urban luxury sedan to be behind the wheel, thanks to ita fantastic suspension setup comprising of aluminum double front wishbone at the front and integral link rear suspension. The adaptive dynamics setup of the car with active dampers make it feel comfortable and exhilarating at the same time.

The sole engine and gearbox combination employed for the Philippines-spec Jaguar XF is a 2.0-litre four-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine coupled to an 8-speed automatic gearbox. The engine can pump out a maximum power output of 200 PS and a peak torque output of 320 Nm.

The Jaguar XF is heavily equipped with safety amenities like the front, side, and curtain airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, torque vectoring, dynamic stability control, traction control, trailer stability control, engine drag torque control, hill start assist and hill descent control.

The Jaguar XF, despite its age, looks glorious and still manages to appeal to younger hearts with its elegant exterior and interior design. The cabin feels a bit old school, but then, the top-notch quality levels do make up for it. What makes it a really interesting car is its mechanical setup, with a punchy petrol engine as well as incredible driving dynamics.
