At the rear are dual exhaust tailpipes and similar sleek-looking LED taillights. A shark fin antenna and glass sunroof can be found on the roof. The basic A6 model rides on a set of 16-inch cast-aluminum wheels with options to go as big as 21-inch. The A6 measures 4,933 mm long, 2,086 mm wide, 1,455 mm tall, and a wheelbase of 2,912 mm.

The cushioned ride is complemented with low levels of NVH levels, spacious cabin room, and comfy seats. And though the luxury sedan can seat five passengers, four passengers are ideal for maximum comfort, especially on long rides.
Audi A6 Sedan Engine & Fuel Consumption
The A6 is offered in different engine sizes available in both TDI diesel and TFSI gasoline units. The Audi TDI fuel-efficient engines use the dual power of a common rail injection system and turbocharging that delivers aggressive torque levels and constant power build-up. It’s available in 1,968cc, 2.0-Liter TDI Ultra engine that delivers a choice between 110 kW (148 Hp) power and 350 Nm of torque or 140 kW (189 Hp) of output and 400 Nm of torque. Then there’s the 2,967cc 3.0-litre V6 TDI that churns 160 kW (215 Hp) of power and 400 Nm of torque with a quattro version that has a torquier output of 500 Nm. The ultimate diesel engine options are the top-of-the-line 3.0-Liter TDI quattro that produces either a 200 kW (268 Hp) of power and 580 Nm of torque or the whopping 235 kW (315 Hp) of output and 650 Nm of torque. The 235 kW quattro engine can accelerate from 0 – 100 km/ h in just 5 seconds and has a top speed of 250 km/ h while the base 110 kW can go from 0 – 100 km/ h in 9.8 seconds with a top speed of 214 km/ h.
The TFSI 4, on the other hand, comes in several power options that provide exemplary performance while retaining dynamism and outstanding fuel efficiency. The 4-cylinder inline petrol engine with direct fuel injection, turbocharging and Audi valvelift system has three engine sizes: the 1,798 cc 1.8-Liter TFSI and TFSI ultra that produces 140 kW (188 Hp) of power and 320 Nm of torque; the 1,984 cc 2.0-Liter TFSI that delivers 185 kW (258 Hp) of output and 370 Nm of torque; and the V6 3.0-Liter TFSI quattro that churns out 245 kW (329 Hp) of power and 440 of torque. The Base TFSI engine can go from 0 – 100 km/ h in 7.9 seconds and has a top speed of 233 km/ h. The top variant, 3.0 TFSI quattro, can accelerate from 0 – 100 km/ h in just 5.1 seconds and can reach a top speed of 250 km/ h.
Both petrol and diesel engines are Euro 6 Emission Standard compliant and use premium grade, Sulphur-free, diesel, and Ron 95 petrol. The engines are mated to a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed S Tronic manual transmission with dual-clutch gearbox, or an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. The S Tronic with dual-clutch uses two multi-plate clutches and two sub-transmissions so the driver gets the efficiency and sportiness of a manual transmission while also enjoying the convenience of an automatic. The 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission with Dynamic Shift Program (DSP) and sports program comes with an option of manual control via paddle shifters found in the multi-function steering wheel. The Tiptronic transmission system allows spontaneous gear changes anytime with minimal interruptions for a smooth and rapid gear change. The A6 comes standard with a front-wheel-drive system though top-of-the-line variants come in quattro permanent four-wheel drive system options.

For the braking system, the A6 is fitted with ventilated disc brakes at the front and rear enhanced by antilock brake system (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), electromechanical parking brake, and hydraulic brake assist. Even the brand exclusive safety packages like the Audi pre sense basic, Audi side assist, Audi pre sense rear, or Audi pre sense plus are not standard on any A6 variants which adds to the overall price tag if the driver wants these safety features added to the car. Still, the Audi A6 gets a perfect five-star safety rating from the Euro NCAP on all four criteria: protection of adult passengers, child safety, pedestrian safety, and driver assistance systems.
