The TFSI 4, on the other hand, comes in several power options that provide exemplary performance while retaining dynamism and outstanding fuel efficiency. The 4-cylinder inline petrol engine with direct fuel injection, turbocharging and Audi valvelift system has three engine sizes: the 1,798 cc 1.8-Liter TFSI and TFSI ultra that produces 140 kW (188 Hp) of power and 320 Nm of torque; the 1,984 cc 2.0-Liter TFSI that delivers 185 kW (258 Hp) of output and 370 Nm of torque; and the V6 3.0-Liter TFSI quattro that churns out 245 kW (329 Hp) of power and 440 of torque. The Base TFSI engine can go from 0 – 100 km/ h in 7.9 seconds and has a top speed of 233 km/ h. The top variant, 3.0 TFSI quattro, can accelerate from 0 – 100 km/ h in just 5.1 seconds and can reach a top speed of 250 km/ h.

Both petrol and diesel engines are Euro 6 Emission Standard compliant and use premium grade, Sulphur-free, diesel, and Ron 95 petrol. The engines are mated to a 6-speed manual, a 7-speed S Tronic manual transmission with dual-clutch gearbox, or an 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission. The S Tronic with dual-clutch uses two multi-plate clutches and two sub-transmissions so the driver gets the efficiency and sportiness of a manual transmission while also enjoying the convenience of an automatic. The 8-speed Tiptronic automatic transmission with Dynamic Shift Program (DSP) and sports program comes with an option of manual control via paddle shifters found in the multi-function steering wheel. The Tiptronic transmission system allows spontaneous gear changes anytime with minimal interruptions for a smooth and rapid gear change. The A6 comes standard with a front-wheel-drive system though top-of-the-line variants come in quattro permanent four-wheel drive system options.

For the braking system, the A6 is fitted with ventilated disc brakes at the front and rear enhanced by antilock brake system (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), electromechanical parking brake, and hydraulic brake assist. Additional safety and convenience features include an airbag system, anti-slip regulation (ASR), electronic differential lock (EDL), electronic stabilization control (ESC), electromechanical power steering, Audi drive select, hold assist, ISOFIX, and an engine start-stop button.
