Yamaha Xmax

The 2021 Yamaha XMax has been rightly designed as per the maxi scooter standards, with its tall stance, wide and large bodywork, and long silhouette working together to impart a tremendous road presence. The edgy design details, especially at the front, make the Yamaha XMax look pretty aggressive.

The front profile of the 2021 Yamaha XMax looks very sharp and edgy, with the dual-tone treatment for the front apron making it look quite wide when viewed head-on. The birds eye shaped angular dual headlamps are completely LED setups, which are placed on the lower edge of the front apron. The front apron has been executed with a zig-zag pattern while flowing downwards, which also come integrated with sloping clear lens turn indicators in the midway. Even the front fender above the front wheel gets dual-tone treatment similar to the front apron above.

There are a lot of busy lines in the side profile of the 2021 Yamaha XMax, in both the rear side body panels as well as the panel behind the split floorboard. All these body panels are large and wide enough to make the XMax look very long and bulky. The step-themed long single-piece seat is super wide and large enough to accommodate two full-sized adults comfortably, with the rearmost end of it accompanied by split pillion grab rails. The rear profile of the 2021 Yamaha XMax gets a wide LED tail lamp assembly, which has been integrated with clear lens turn indicators on its sides.

Thanks to its large dimensions and bodywork, the 2021 Yamaha XMax gets a generous amount of under-seat storage space, which is capacious enough to hold two helmets and few small knick-knacks in addition. With a wide handlebar, the 2021 Yamaha XMax has a commanding and wide rider’s cockpit with a large instrument console at a place. This car-like unit gets round analog dials for the speedometer and tachometer, with a small rectangular LCD unit in between for digital readouts of the fuel gauge, temperature gauge, odometer, trip meters, clock, and few other data.

The 2021 Yamaha XMax feels at home for both urban and highway runabouts, and that is pretty much achievable with its fantastic chassis under the skin. The scooter has been fitted with hydraulic telescopic forks at the front and unit swing suspension at the rear, which is on a softer edge to make the overall ride quality on a suppler side. The scooter rides on a 15-inch front wheel and a 14-inch rear wheel, with disc brakes at both ends for potent stopping power.

The 2021 Yamaha XMax sources its power from a four-stroke, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected, 292cc engine, which currently is the largest and most powerful engine for a scooter from Yamaha. With maximum power and torque outputs rated at 28 PS and 29 Nm respectively, the Yamaha XMax is one supremely capable performer not only for urban traffic runabouts but also for highway cruising. 

It is this aspect where the 2021 Yamaha XMax scores brilliantly, thus trying to justify its high asking price. The scooter has been equipped with premium kits like dual-channel ABS, traction control, keyless ignition, adjustable front windshield, and electric power socket for charging smartphones.

The overall asking price of the 2021 Yamaha XMax is definitely on a higher side. However, Yamaha has tried to make it worth the stretch with its refined and powerful engine, excellent engine, and extensive list of safety and comfort features, all of which make the Yamaha XMax a very fine maxi scooter on sale in the country.
