At 760 hp, the 2020 Ford Mustang Shelby GT500 is the most powerful yet. With the latest news on the car, apparently, it's also the heaviest.

According to a prominent Mustang forum, the Shelby GT500 drops in at a base curb weight of approximately 4,225 pounds, or almost 1,916 kgs. This information allegedly comes from a leaked eSourceBook for the car that's sent to dealership and sales representatives.

Ford neither confirms nor denies the information.

The weighty figure makes the GT500 about 152 kgs heavier than the Chevrolet Camaro ZL1.

From within Ford's own lineup, the upcoming Mustang is around 160 kgs heavier than the model it replaces, and about 190 kgs heavier than the latest Shelby GT350.
