The third plug-in hybrid in Audi's U.S. lineup is here, and it is stunning. Expected to hit North American dealerships later this year, the 2021 Audi A7 55 TFSI e plug-in hybrid electric vehicle (PHEV) is fitted with a sleek, sportback design, excellent driving dynamics, and a wide range of cutting-edge technologies that the Audi brand is long known for.
What sets the PHEV model apart from the competition is its impressive powertrain. The car is equipped with a turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder TFSI engine joined with an electric motor and a 7-speed S-tronic dual-clutch automatic transmission. The engine is able to push out a total of 362 horsepower and 500 Nm of torque, making it able to propel the car from a complete standstill to 100 kmh in just 5.7 seconds, sending the power via Audi's signature 'quattro all-wheel drive with ultra' technology.
At first glance, the 2021 Audi A7 55 is undoubtedly striking. The vehicle comes standard with the S line exterior package, giving the exterior a bold and aggressive look. The S line exterior package includes S line-specific front and rear fascia designs, fender badges and illuminated doorsill inlays. The car also features HD Matrix-design LED headlights with high-beam assist and 20-inch, Audi Sport 5-twin-arm wheels with all-season tires.
Getting inside the cockpit, Audi brings the same precision and class from the exterior to the interio with its heated front seats and leather seating surfaces for all five passengers, four-zone automatic air conditioning, Audi virtual cockpit, an audible low-speed exterior e Sound, a top view camera with Virtual 360 view, and Audi’s latest MIB 3 infotainment system.
For the A7 55 TFSI e Premium Plus variant, customers can avail of the optional Executive Package that comes with ventilated front seats and heated rear seats, along with safety features such as adaptive cruise control, Audi active lane assist with Emergency assist and adaptive cruise assist.
Go one trim higher with the A7 55 TFSI e Prestige, and you will get all available features from Premium Plus models, including a head-up display, power soft-closing doors, pre-conditioning plus, dual-pane acoustic glass as well as all other features included in the Executive Package.
The Audi A7 55 TFSI e comes standard with an easy to use, compact charging system. The car is compatible with any SAE J1772 charging station. An included compact charging system can also be used at home or on the go.
The base model A7 55 TFSI starts at $69,200 (Php 3.5 million), while the top of the line model goes for as much as $90,300 or Php 4.5 million.
In the Philippines, we have the Audi A7 Sportback, a sleek and stylish executive liftback sedan. Priced at Php 7.69 million, the vehicle comes equipped with a 3.0 liter gasoline engine that makes 329 hp and 440 Nm of torque.
