ADVISORY: MMDA lifts number coding for Aug. 21

The Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will suspend the unified vehicular volume reduction program (UVVRP) — more commonly known as number coding scheme — on Monday (August 21) in line with the country's commemoration of Ninoy Aquino Day.

    Since the aforementioned day has been declared a Special Non-Working Holiday, the public will enjoy a three-day weekend.

    Relatedly, agency also announced that the Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) will conduct asphalt overlay activities (night-time works only) starting 11 p.m. tonight until 5 a.m. of August 21 on the following roads:

    • C-5 Road Southbound after C-5 and Ayala Heights Intersection
    • C-5 Road Southbound after Magsaysay Avenue near U-turn slot
    • C-5 Road Southbound after Magsaysay Avenue

    With that, motorists are advised to take alternate routes to avoid any possible inconvenience.
