Attention Commuters: No MRT and LRT-1, 2 Services during the Holy Week Celebration
Commuters who plan to take the LRT-1 during Holy Week would have to find other ways go to their destination.
According to ABS-CBN, the Light Rail Transit (LRT-1) Line 1 will discontinue its operations from Maundy Thursday (April 18) to Easter Sunday (April 21).
According to Philstar, maintenance works will be done for the Light Rail Transit Lines 1 and 2 as well as the Metro Rail Transit 3.
Those who plan to commute should take note of the following schedule beforehand:
Metro Rail Transit Line 3 (MRT3), North Avenue-Taft Avenue
- April 15-21 (from Holy Monday to Easter Sunday) - No operations
- April 22 - Normal operations
Light Rail Transit Line 1 (LRT1), Roosevelt-Baclaran
- April 15-17 (from Holy Monday to Wednesday), 4:30 a.m. to 10:15 p.m. for Baclaran; 4:30 am to 10 p.m. for Roosevelt
- April 18-21 (from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday) - No operations
- April 22 - Normal operations
Light Rail Transit Line 2 (LRT2), Santolan-Recto
- April 17 (Holy Wednesday) - Departure of the last train to Santolan at 7 p.m.; train going to Recto at 7:30 p.m.
- April 18-21 (from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday) - No operations
- April 22 - Normal operations
Normal operating hours will resume on Monday, April 22.

Maintenance Work During Holy Week
It has been a common practice for LRT and MRT Transit lines to do maintenance work on their trains during the Lenten celebration.
Holy Week is an important practice in the Philippines, with almost 83 percent of the country's population professing the Catholic faith. Currently, the country is the third biggest Catholic population, next to Brazil and Mexico.
