Autohub launches Car+ with Shell, Smart

Autohub Car+ Launch

The Autohub Group — together with Shell Philippines and Smart Communications — has launched Car+, an automotive diagnostics service.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • How can customers avail of Car+?

Customers can avail of Car+ by getting the Shell Helix Premium Oil Change Package that’s available from all Nexthub branches.
  • What information can Car+ provide car owners?

Car+ can provide car owners with relevant data like mileage, coolant and engine temperature, battery voltage and life, mass airflow measurement, and fuel consumption.
  • Per Autohub, Car+ is bundled with the Shell Helix Premium Oil Change Package that’s available from all Nexthub branches.

Those who will avail of the said maintenance package will get the Car+ dongle as well as a two-year subscription to the service.

Highly trained technicians will install the Car+ dongle and connect it to the vehicle’s OBD2 port.

Car+ can help detect and diagnose vehicle health by providing its owners with relevant data, namely its mileage, the coolant and engine temperature, the car’s battery voltage and life, mass airflow measurement, and fuel consumption.

The said device is fitted with a Smart Internet of Things (IoT) sim card, which allows it to communicate with the Car+ platform once the vehicle is turned on. The transmission of data happens in real-time.

Because data transmission happens almost instantaneously, the information fed by the dongle to the Car+ platform will be relayed to a dedicated support team who will contact subscribers about their next oil change or any possible problem.

In addition, the abovementioned support team can help give guidelines and set up appointments on where and when to visit the nearest Nexthub service station.

    Autohub Car+ Launch 1

“Our partnership with Carmen Automotive, Shell Helix Motor Oils, and Smart Communications, has taken Car+ to new heights. Together we will make car ownership easier and more enjoyable for everyone. My goal is to put Autohub in the leaderboard in terms of car technology innovation. The new Car+ launch is a testament to making car ownership in the Philippines more reliable,” Autohub Group President Willy Tee Ten was quoted saying.

Car+ looks to revolutionize vehicle ownership for many Filipinos by giving them access to car and driver data and analytics to ensure their automobile’s performance, prevent breakdowns, and realize better fuel efficiency.
