Bentley Mulliner produces Bacalar-inspired aircraft

Bentley Mulliner, the automotive brand’s personal commissioning division, has partnered with Flexjet owner Kenn Ricci to customize two bespoke aircraft inspired by the Bacalar.

Ricci worked with members of Mulliner’s in-house design team to customize his Gulfstream G650 and Sikorsky S-76.

The collaboration between Ricci and Bentley Mulliner resulted in a unique creation showcasing what the Crewe-based brand’s bespoke division can do.

Outside, the private jet and the helicopter both don the rare and distinctive Julep finish accompanied by accents of silver-green chameleon paint.

Inside, the copperhead shape and basket weave stitching on the Linen and Beluga leather-trimmed seats of the coachbuilt Bacalar inspired the custom seats in the Gulfstream G650 and those in the Sikorsky S-76.

 

The 5,000-year-old reclaimed Riverwood that forms the handcrafted veneer of the Bacalar inspired the matching wood veneer species used in both aircraft. Satin Bacalar Bronze fittings adorn the cabins, as well as the unique diamond-carved carpet.

All of the touches applied on both aircraft were taken from Ricci’s own bespoke Bentley Bacalar. It is also finished in Julep and wears a set of customized tri-color 22-inch wheels in dark grey satin with polished faces and Arctica highlights.

Satin Bronze accents can be found on the car’s headlamps, waistrails, and exhaust tips while Satin Carbon trims adorn its rear deck, bonnet vents, wing mirrors, and “power humps.”

A white and black cabin with Bacalar bronze accents creates a striking contemporary interior theme. Other luxurious details such as dual veneer open pore Riverwood surfaces and leather-wrapped appointments further give Ricci’s Bacalar an air of bespoke elegance.
