Bentley Mulsanne Review
Bentley Mulsanne Overview
Launched as a direct alternative to Rolls Royce Ghost, the Bentley Mulsanne is the flagship car from Bentley, sitting right at the top of the glorious lineup of the British marquee. The Bentley Mulsanne is on the verge of its final run and is available with a single powertrain option in the Philippines market.
Bentley Mulsanne Interior
The Bentley Mulsanne has got a well crafted interior layout, which has the ability to make you feel cocooned with just its fit and finish levels and overall simplicity. The cabin is wrapped in fine leather and wood panels, making it a luxury place to be in high order.
The middle layer of the dashboard which extends all the way towards the sides on the door panels is completely wrapped in fine dark wood. The upper layer of the dashboard is finished in soft-touch black leather, while the lower one in beige of supreme order. There is a hint of old school appeal in the designs of the four-spoke multi-functional steering wheel, two pod instrument console, analog clocks below the touchscreen infotainment system in the middle, and a premium panel for automatic climate control and other buttons in the centre, finished in piano black and silver.
Bentley Mulsanne Exterior
There is no doubt on the massive and sheer road presence which the Bentley Mulsanne carries on its shoulders wherever it goes, thanks to its special aura and quintessential British charm in its styling. However, in today’s day and age, the Bentley Mulsanne feels slightly dated and can do with a bit more suaveness in its visual appeal.
The overall profile of the Bentley Mulsanne looks striking, thanks to a slightly upright front fascia. The headlamp assembly of the Mulsanne is made up of the main round lamp assisted with another small one on either sides, with all of them being full-LED units. The large rounded rectangular front grille with multiple chrome slats extends all the way to the front bumper’s lower edge. At the top of the grille sits the winged B badge, which adds to the sophistication. The sculpted bonnet with raised hood adds some heft to the front design of the car.
The side profile of the Bentley Mulsanne looks muscular, thanks to the flared and muscular big wheel arches, which are super broad and extend all the way to the far end extensions, engulfing the fenders. The sleek chrome finish on the lower portion of the doors and B-pillar add to the luxury appeal of the car.
The Mulsanne has got a sleek rear end, with the split patter tail lamps mounted on the back of the wheel arch extensions on either sides. The sculpted middle portion of the boot has a sleek chrome lining at the bottom and a fine badge in the middle.
Bentley Mulsanne Ride & Handling
The Bentley Mulsanne has been equipped with all the best possible chassis, steering, suspension, and braking setup the British marquee could have ever come up with. With all the subtlety in its ride quality, the Bentley Mulsanne gives a rich back seat experience, as expected from a full-blown luxury saloon.
Bentley Mulsanne Engine & Fuel Consumption
The Bentley Mulsanne is powered by the largest and most powerful engine Bentley has come up within the modern era – a 6.75-litre twin-turbocharged V8 petrol motor. This ultra-refined motor is paired to an 8-speed automatic gearbox, and pumps out a maximum power output of 555 PS and a peak torque output of a staggering 1020 Nm.
Bentley Mulsanne Braking & Safety
Armed with all the impeccable and modern safety features like airbags all around, ABS with EBD and brake assist, electronic stability control, traction control, assist emergency system, forward collision warning, front and rear parking sensors, 360-degree camera, lane departure warning, and many many more.
Bentley Mulsanne Verdict
With the Mulsanne, Bentley has shown that how the old school theme can co-exist with modern era technologies. It is quite evident from the way it looks in and out, however, the exterior styling might not be to everyone’s taste. Still, it has got the charm and aura to turn many heads wherever it goes.
