CAMPI gets a new president
MANILA: Jose Maria Atienza has formally accepted the top leadership position for the Chamber of Automotive Manufacturers of the Philippines Incorporated (CAMPI).

Atienza is bringing to the table his wealth of expertise as a veteran who has served the automotive industry for more than 30 years — most of which in the marketing division of Toyota Motor Philippines (TMP).
Photo by Ruben Manahan IVConcurrently serving as the leading automotive distributor’s executive vice president for marketing, the latest CAMPI president also became the Head of Marketing for Toyota Financial Services Philippines and president of the Toyota Makati Dealer Group.
In his acceptance speech, Atienza assured the group’s cooperation and collaboration to all stakeholders in the automotive industry. “This leadership is committed to building on CAMPI’s legacy rooted in purpose and creating positive impact for the Philippine automotive industry,” he affirmed.
Meanwhile, Gutierrez expressed his utmost support to his successor.
“I wish the best to our incoming president, Jing Atienza, and the new CAMPI officers. I know you have already set yourself up for a lot of work. The past leaderships of CAMPI already set the path of posterity. I trust that the incoming officers will build on it and chart new successes for the Association with the full support of the members and industry stakeholders.”

New CAMPI vision
During the program, Gutierrez said that the group is now following a new vision that reflects its role as the leading automotive industry association in the country.
“This is not closing the book of CAMPI. Rather, it is opening new chapters for the incoming leadership, so that CAMPI can continue making an impactful stance on mobility transition in the country,” Gutierrez explained.
Photo by Ruben Manahan IVMeanwhile, Atienza noted that the new vision will be supported by its four core pillars namely technology and innovation; vehicle and road safety; industry development; as well as sustainability.
“Our framework for future action focuses on establishing automotive as a key sector with significant economic and societal contribution,” he added.
Further, Atienza noted that he is eyeing to keep current and build new alliances to help realize the group’s vision; form new opportunities for member and parts suppliers; and showcase the value that CAMPI brings to the industry and its various stakeholders as a partner for growth.
