Continental Tires PH offers ‘Total Confidence Plan’

MANILA: In its bid to provide a wider warranty coverage to clients, Continental Tires Philippines has launched “Total Confidence Plan (TCP).”

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What is the coverage of the Total Confidence Plan?

The plan includes one-year road hazard protection and up to five-year manufacturing defect warranty.
  • How caan tire buyers qualify for the plan?

Customers can qualify for the Total Confidence Plan by purchasing two tires from an authorized dealer and registering via the portal within seven days.
  • In a statement, JM Far East Incorporated (JMFEI) shared that the program addresses real-world risks by combining road hazard coverage and manufacturing defect warranty into an easy-to-understand program. This applies to those who bought Continental passenger, sport utility vehicle, and light truck tires starting today.

The company expressed firm belief that the new program allowed them to excel further in a market where tire warranties are typically limited to manufacturing defects. Through the newly-launched initiative, real-world driving risks are being addressed as it includes road hazard protection.

    Other stories:

This is what the Continental Tires Philippines’ TCP is all about.

    Road Hazard Protection

With a coverage period of 12 months from purchase (or until the tire reaches 5mm remaining tread depth—whichever comes first), the road hazard protection includes unrepairable tire damage caused by everyday road conditions such as:

    • Severe punctures beyond repair
    • Sidewall cuts exposing tire cords
    • Impact damage from potholes or broken pavement
    • Road debris-related damage
    • Run-flat damage due to penetration or cuts (subject to validation)

Should their claims be approved, customers will receive a brand-new Continental tire of the same specification or the nearest equivalent.

Manufacturing Defect Warranty (Up to 5 Years)

Covered up to five years, the standard warranty comprises manufacturing defects, with the coverage depending on the tire’s date of manufacture.

Tires up to six years old (from the current year):

    • Year 1: Road hazard and manufacturing defect coverage
    • Years 2-5: Manufacturing defect coverage (pro-rated basis)

    Tires 7-9 years old:

    • Year 1 only: Road hazard and manufacturing defect coverage

Continental Tires Philippines clarified that the manufacturing defect claims are subject to pro-rated adjustments, not full replacement under TCP.

For customers to qualify, they must:

    • Purchase at least two brand-new Continental tires in one transaction
    • Buy from authorized dealers or official online stores
    • Register within seven days from purchase via the TCP portal

Each tire is registered separately and linked to a specific vehicle and customer, ensuring accurate validation and accountability.

Continental Tires Philippines noted that the TCP allows clients to file and monitor claims conveniently through its efficient claims system.

Customers with approved claimed will have their replacements within the following timeline:

    • Metro Manila: Minimum five business days
    • Luzon: Minimum seven business days
    • Visayas and Mindanao: Minimum 14 business days

However, the program does not cover:

    • Repairable punctures or cosmetic damage
    • Improper use, racing, or off-road misuse
    • Poor maintenance (under/over-inflation, misalignment, and the likes)
    • Installation-related damage
    • Taxis and car rental vehicles
    • External events such as accidents, fire, or flooding

“Filipino motorists deal with unpredictable road conditions every day. The Total Confidence Plan is designed to give them added assurance that their investment is protected—not just against defects, but against the realities of the road,” JMFEI President Winston Manabat said.
