DOTr, LTFRB Launch New PUVMP Routes in Lapu-Lapu City
As the Department of Transportation (DOTr) and the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) continue to deliver world-class public transportation that is safe, convenient, environment-friendly, and dependable, new routes were launched in Lapu-Lapu City, Cebu last Monday, February 18.
Through the Public Utility Vehicle Modernization Program (PUVMP) of the DOTr and LTFRB, 25 of 100 approved units of eco-friendly PUVs were unveiled, which are expected to serve more than 40,000 passengers of the said city.
The vehicles will be plying the loop routes of Lapu-Lapu City Public Market-Babag-Cordova-Marigondon-Crossing Basak-Gun-ob-Lapu-Lapu City Public Market; and Lapu-Lapu City Public Market-Pusok-Mepz-Marigondon-Crossing Basak-Gun-ob-Lapu-Lapu City Public Market.
Officials present at the event were LTFRB Chairman Martin Delgra III, Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Paz Radaza, LTFRB Region 7 Director Eduardo Montealto Jr., LTFRB Executive Director Samuel Aloysius Jardin, OTC Officer-in-Charge Medel Afalla, and representatives from the United Drivers and Operators Transport Cooperative (UDOTCO).
