DOTr-LTO Opens New Driver’s License Center at Baguio Mall
The Department of Transportation-Land Transportation Office (DOTr-LTO) in the Cordillera Region opened a new driver’s license renewal center in the heart of Baguio's central business district for the added convenience of the region's motoring public.
DOTr Cordillera Officer-in-Charge Robert Allan Santiago said that the new Driver's License Renewal Office (DLRO) at the second floor of the Porta Vaga Mall along Session Road is designed to make driver's license renewal and student permit application easier.
"The DLRO (driver’s license renewal office) was established to ease the queues in Pacdal, which is very inconvenient for those getting their licenses due to the heavy traffic," Santiago said.
Aside from the long queues, parking in Pacdal is also limited, owing to the several tourist spots in the area such as The Botanical Gardens, Wright Park, Mansion House, and Mines View Park.
Santiago added that car owners can process their driver's license and vehicle registration simultaneously at the Porta Vaga Mall DLRO. Applicants can receive their new licenses or permits within 30 minutes to one hour barring any issues with documents, internet connectivity, and system errors.
Santiago emphasized that LTO is no longer issuing temporary licenses printed on paper, as the venue is capable of producing PVC cards. Only student driving permits will still be on paper.
The Porta Vaga Mall DLRO will follow the 9 AM mall opening and will serve clients until 6 PM initially.
