EV charging stations now available in SM malls

The electrified mobility ecosystem in the Philippines continues to grow as more and more charging stations are being put up around the country. 

As electric vehicles (EV) are being aggressively introduced in the Philippines, SM Investments also showcases it support towards green mobility by opening numerous EV charging areas within its vast mall chain around the country.

In a statement, the company said that a total 27 SM malls now offer the service.

“The EV charging stations in SM Supermalls are one of the sustainability initiatives under the SM Green Movement. Aside from advocating air conservation and clean energy through this innovation, we champion solid waste management, water conservation, energy efficiency, and disaster resilience for a greener, safer tomorrow” SM Supermalls President Steven Tan said.

According to SM Investments, the EV charging stations within their malls are mostly equipped with Wallbox Type 2 plugs. Customers may also use their charging sockets when using the EV charging stations that can also be found in areas as far as SM Center Tuguegarao Downtown, SM City Trece Martires, and Sky Ranch Tagaytay, SM Baguio, and SM Lanang in Davao.

Additionally, SM customers can also charge their EV units free of charge nationwide.

Further, SM Investments shared that its EV charging areas are also designed to make vacations cost less since EV charging stations are spreading throughout the provincial malls.
