KEY TAKEAWAYS
When and where was the latest GrabCar-avan event held?
The GrabCar-avan was held at the Grab Philippines Partner Center in Marikina City last March 4.To where did Grab Philippines attribute the high turnout of applicants?
The high volume of applicants was attributed to the removal of the Certificate of Conformity in the requirements for getting a transport network vehicle service franchise. The company said that the aforementioned initiative, held last March 4, was part of its move to help fill the 4,000 slots opened by the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) last January 9.
Per Grab Philippines, nearly a thousand of applicants went to its Partner Center in Marikina City. The huge turnout was attributed to the removal of the Certificate of Conformity (COC) in the requirements for getting a transport network vehicle service (TNVS) franchise.
Following this, Grab Philippines is expecting to process more applications in the upcoming legs of GrabCar-avan.
“We thank the LTFRB for making it easier for more Filipinos to earn an equitable living through ride-hailing – and it is clearly manifested with the outpouring of applicants from our recent GrabCar-avan,” Grab Philippines Senior Director for Operations Ronald Roda was quoted as saying.
“We are optimistic that through this development and programs such as GrabCar-avan, we are taking the right step towards providing more livelihood in the ride-hailing sector, while offering our commuters with safe, reliable, and more affordable means of mobility for their everyday needs,” he added.
Grab Philippines noted that the applicants no longer need to submit the bank-issued COC for the application of the Certificate of Public Convenience (CPC) following the issuance of Board Resolution No. 005 Series of 2023 last March 2.
