A driver-partner for Grab Philippines has been arrested after allegedly pointing a gun--which turned out to be a replica.
Reports identified the suspect as Hyron Henry Roscom, a 21-year old Grab driver who was said to have drawn his replica gun at Genonevo Azarcon Jr., a security guard at Tides Grill and Bistro in Barangay Olympia, Makati.
The report stated that the incident took place at around 2 AM when the suspect alighted his vehicle and pointed a gun at the security guard.
Immediately after, Azarcon sought for the assistance of authorities nearby who were watching over the area.
Investigations revealed, the report added, that the gun was actually a replica of a .38 caliber revolver.
Meanwhile, Grab Philippines Public Affairs Manager Nicka Hosaka said that they do not condone such acts.
"We have already banned the driver from the platform as we continue our own internal investigation of the incident," Hosaka said.
The Grab Philippines public affairs manager added the company will "extend full cooperation to the authorities in support of their investigation."
"The safety and security of our users is of utmost priority to us. We encourage all our users to remain vigilant at all times and report to Grab through our 24/7 hotline 02-8837107 any behavior which puts the welfare of our community at risk," she added.
