Grab, Valenzuela seal smart city deal
The Valenzuela City government together with Grab Philippines is excited to bring about an exciting and meaningful brand of service by building Metro Manila’s first smart city.
In the coming days, the local government will be launching a new milestone in digital governance through the – 3S Plus Online Services, which particularly highlights its “Paspas Permit”, the 10-second online business permit system.
Foremost, Grab will be working with the Valenzuela City Government through Grab’s on-demand courier service, Grab Express. Business permit applicants can now process their documents without going through the long lines in the city hall.
“Valenzuela is one of the LGUs in the country that we deeply admire as they are embracing and adopting technology to provide their constituents efficient and meaningful public service - a common agenda that we share in Grab - to use technology and innovation for the good of the Filipino people,” Grab Philippines President Brian Cu said in a memorandum of agreement signing, together with Valenzuela City Mayor Rex Gatchalian.
“As we embark on this promising new enterprise with the City Government of Valenzuela, we are excited and honored to be their equitable and reliable partner to help build Metro Manila’s first smart city,” Cu added.
Paspas Permit system enables applicants of business permit in Valenzuela to receive their provisionary permits to start their business in a matter of 10 seconds upon confirmation of payment. The actual business plates shall be delivered by Grab Express to their doorsteps.
“This is where Grab comes in. As we all know, Grab has made on-demand delivery of parcels faster, and this partnership is a great compliment to our 3S Plus Online Services,” Gatchalian said.
Grab and Valenzuela will also work collaboratively in building a hyper-localized mapping system of Valenzuela City, thus enabling accuracy and efficiency on bookings and parcel deliveries made via Grab platform. In compliance with the Philippine data privacy laws,
Grab and Valenzuela will also share relevant data on the updated base map or satellite imagery of Valenzuela City.
