Honda Cars PH shares car care tips for rainy season

HCPI rainy day

Honda Cars Philippines, Inc. (HCPI) gave some important car care tips that will help keep motorists safe while ensuring that the vehicle remains in pristine condition during the rainy season.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What vehicles are covered under the Honda Sensing Insurance?

Honda Cars Philippines said that the all-new HR-V, all-new Civic, CR-V, Accord, and the Civic Type R are covered in the insurance program.
  • What companies are Honda Cars Philippines Inc.'s partners under the offered insurance?

HCPI's partners for the program are BPI MS Insurance and AXA Philippines.
  • Clean the car’s windshield

Since visibility is crucial when driving during bad weather, vehicle owners must have their windshields cleaned immediately as rainwater leaves deposits when it dries up.

“Having clean windows is also important to help you drive safely so you have a better view of your surroundings. You could either invest in window detailing or have it cleaned on a regular basis to avoid the build-up of dirt and dust,” HCPI noted.

    Inspect windshield wipers

Since windshields should be squeaky clean all the time, wipers should also be at the best possible condition before driving in the rain. Make sure that the wiper blades are replaced on time.

On the average, HCPI said that windshield wiper blades can last from six months to a year.

    Ensure the headlamps are okay

Like every car’s windshield, headlamps can also get hazy over time. The aforementioned part of the car needs to be maintained properly by washing it and wiping it regularly. Have the light bulbs checked as well if they are working properly.

    Check the car’s battery

To avoid getting stranded under heavy downpours, always ensure that the vehicle’s battery has enough charge and replace it if necessary.

    Assess tire quality

Always check if the tire tread depth is sufficient to reduce the risk of hydroplaning. Aside from that, have a regular tire pressure check (including the spare tire).

Further, HCPI said that owners should not risk driving with tires that are past their lifespan.

    Ensure braking power

Brakes are also a driver’s best friend during rainy situations. Squeaking or grinding noises that come out when braking are indicators that brake pads are in need of replacement. Follow the brake services as advised by the manufacturer

Wash and wax the car regularly

Give the car a good wash and apply wax to protect its paint. Putting wax makes it easier for the car to be cleaned after being dirty during the rain, and helps avoid rain marks from forming.

    Get the proper car insurance

The right insurance spares the owner from any possible headaches that may possibly occur.

That said, HCPI shared that it has partnered with BPI MS Insurance and AXA Philippines that covers Honda Sensing-equipped vehicles such as the all-new HR-Vall-new CivicCR-VAccord, and the Civic Type R.

HCPI offers preferential rates under the Honda Sensing Insurance Partnership Program as low as P2,119 per month and is offered until December 31, 2022.
