    “Ride-hailing services are not just a matter of convenience, but a necessity. As the world returns to its busy state, moving around can be a challenge, particularly for people who do not own vehicles. We hope to ease this burden, while providing opportunities for drivers to earn more.”

    Currently one of the world’s fastest-growing ride-hailing service platforms, Indrive had about 175 million downloads worldwide as of last year. The company currently operates in 614 cities in 47 countries, with regional hubs in the United States, Asia, Middle East, Africa and countries in the Commonwealth of Independent States. Its largest markets are Mexico, Kazakhstan, Brazil, Columbia and Egypt.  

    How Indrive works

    Indrive shared that its app allows passengers to propose a fare for their ride. On the other hand, drivers can accept, decline or make a counter-offer — without the risk of being penalized.

    The firm clarified that the fares under the app are not dictated by an algorithm, which provides greater transparency for both drivers and passengers. Such design will give passengers more freedom of choice and drivers a greater control of their earnings.

    Further, the app also provides passengers a broad range of options when selecting their ride, including fare, expected arrival time, car model and driver rating. Similarly, drivers can choose to accept ride requests that they deem cost-efficient, profitable and convenient.

    Moreover, Indrive noted that it prioritizes the safety of both driver and passenger. Applicant drivers go through comprehensive background checks (verification of necessary documents, licenses, and permits), while passengers can rate their rides and provide feedback on driver behavior and service quality.

    Aside from that, passengers can share trip details with their trusted contacts as it has a real-time global positioning system tracking system as well as an emergency button to contact authorities.

    Indrive eyes to operate in PH key locations

    According to Indrive, it is eyeing to cater its service to commuters in Manila, Cebu, Davao, Bacolod, and Baguio. Once it has established its presence locally, it will seek to forge partnerships with local firms.

    “Asia had the largest ride-hailing and taxi market in 2022, with a 60 percent share of the global market, which is forecast by Statista to hit $330.8 billion (around P18.382 trillion) this year. In Southeast Asia alone, the ride-hailing sector is expected to be worth $20 billion (P1.111 trillion) by 2025. Market growth can be attributed to strong demand for more TNVS (transport network vehicle service) providers, amid rising mobility requirements,” Indrive cited.
