Jaecoo J5 EV makes official debut

MANILA: Weeks following its public preview at the Philippine International Motor Show, the all-new Jaecoo J5 EV has formally been introduced in the local market.

The newest crossover offering expanded the Omoda and Jaecoo Philippines full electric lineup to three—joining the likes of the Omoda E5 and Jaecoo EJ6.

With a starting price of P1.399 million, here’s what the battery electric version of the Jaecoo J5 HEV  offers to buyers.

Vehicle Specifications

Powering the Jaecoo J5 EV is one electric motor (in front wheel drive mode) mated to a 58.9-kilowatt-hour (kWh) lithium iron phosphate battery. This allows the vehicle to do:

The vehicle can accelerate 0-100 kilometers per hour in 7.7 seconds. 

Charging the energy bank from 30-80 percent in 28 minutes. Aside from that, the Jaecoo J5 EV boasts vehicle-to-load (V2L) and regenerative braking system. 

The Jaecoo J5 EV comes with MacPherson struts at the front and multi-link suspensions at the rear. Stopping power comes from disc brakes on all four wheels.

Outside, the Jaecoo J5 EV has a closed-off front fascia with an active grille shutter, 18-inch wheels, all LED illumination, a power tailgate, a panoramic sunroof, roof rails, and automatic headlamp functionality. 

On paper, the all-new Jaecoo J5 EV measures:

Inside, the five-seater Jaecoo J5 EV wears leather upholstery, automatic air-conditioning, and an ambient lighting system.

As of its official launch, the Jaecoo J5 EV’s sole available variant is the Max, which is offered with an introductory price of P1.399 million. 

Included with the vehicle’s purchase is a seven-year or 200,000-km bumper-to-bumper warranty and an eight-year or 160,000-km battery and electric motor warranty.
