Jauguar I-Pace is 2019 World Car of the Year

The Jaguar I-Pace has set a record at the 2019 World Car Awards by winning not only the coveted 2019 World Car of the Year award but also the 2019 World Green Car, and the 2019 World Car Design of the Year awards--the first time in the World Car Awards' 15-year history that one car has won across three categories.

"For (the) I-Pace to be awarded 2019 World Car of the Year, World Car Design of the Year, and World Green Car gives our first all-electric vehicle the ultimate recognition it deserves," said Jagar Land Rover Chief Executive Officer Prof. Dr. Ralf Speth. "I would like to thank the team who have created I-Pace for their passion in making it so outstanding."

The Jaguar I-Pace was chosen from an initial entry list of 40 vehicles in the World Car of the Year award category, then a short list of three finalists as announced in Geneva on March 5. The 2019 Top Three in the World finalists for the category are the Audi e-tron, the Jaguar I-Pace, and the Volvo S60/V60.

Besides the three awards won by the I-Pace, the other category winners in the 2019 World Car Awards--as revealed at the opening of the 2019 New York International Auto Show--are the following:
